Practice Schedule: During the
summer break, the schedule may vary due
to rain or other unusual events, but
is typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
and Friday, 6:00
p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(end at 7:30 on Fridays) each week (unless
otherwise updated by your team coach).
During any week when is school
is in session, NC State law allows for a maximum of
7.5 hours of practice per week. The purpose of
this maximum is to prevent
interfering with school and educational
priorities.

Gear:
Football
participants should wear shorts, t-shirts and
cleats to practices until the teams
distribute the helmets, shoulder pads,
practice pants and practice jerseys (usually
within the first week of practice).
**Parents must supply cleats and
mouthpieces.
Cheerleading participants should wear
shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes so
that the Cheerleading Coaches can begin
teaching cheers, chants, motions and
steps.
Weigh-ins for
Haywood Mountaineers:
Weigh-ins are used in
conjunction with ages of the
participants to
determine which of the four teams are
best for the safety and competition
among participants. For example, if a
participant
is 9 years of age, but exceeds or falls
below the leagues weight range for the
Termites team then the participant will be
placed on the appropriate team.
This works to level the teams and to
prevent injury.
