Volunteers...

Volunteers Needed - Raise your hand...Do your part Volunteers needed - Make a difference!

Success Depends on Volunteers:
If you’re an adult who hasn’t played an organized sport for years, even decades, you probably can still remember the names of coaches from your childhood. Now – as a youth sport volunteer or coach – you can make a similar, lifelong impression on young team members. The lessons learned from a good coach – teamwork, sportsmanship, work ethic, communication skills, respect for others– transcend sports. While coaching is not an easy task, it can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Why not sign up to coach or volunteer in the coming season?

Volunteer and you’ll enjoy a truly rewarding experience helping the League to improve and while supporting a youth athletics opportunity in your community. As the league grows each year with more and more participants we need additional support from parent volunteers in order to improve the experience for the kids and to provide the leadership and coaching that will lead to more games won. Please contact us for more information on how you can help.

Training and further explanations for each of these volunteer positions will be provided so everyone is comfortable with the expectations. Below is a brief summary of the volunteer opportunities where you can help:

Event Leaders & Volunteers

Events are pre-determined, but organizing and implementing the plans requires multiple volunteers to succeed with a fun and profitable event return for the league.

This year’s events:  Poker Run ($20 per hand), registration advertisements spaces sold.

Events (2) are planned for the spring and early summer months, usually 1-3 months of organizing prior to event (finished prior to the football season).
Game Day Announcers Announce team rosters, commentary on games, CD music for pre-game and half-time. Multiple volunteers wanted so the duties can be shared and have a back-up announcer. With two announcers, each can announce for two HOME games on Saturdays
Game Day Water boys Filling bottles and having them ready at every game (Home & Away) and carrying the bottles on the field as needed between plays. Needed at every game – excellent task for siblings of players.
Water at practices Same as above Split between parents – alternate weeks – need volunteers for all teams.
Practice field trash pick-up Daily walk to make certain that we are not leaving trash on the JVE property. Daily task, but can easily be shared between parents/teams to take turns through the season.
Team Mom's or Dad's Communicate to parents on your team with schedule updates, announcements and other information allowing the coaches to focus on the kids.  Coaches will be happy to supply the info should be communicated to parents. Available through the season as needed, usually an hour or two each week.
